「寿司」と「ＳＵＳＳＩ」

こんにちは。人事労務アウトソーシング事業部の山條です。

先日、友人の結婚式に出席するために、久しぶりに東京へ行きました。

東京に、以前はよく行く機会があったのですが「築地」には行ったことがありませんでした。残念ながら、日曜日にしか行くことができなかったので、場内市場は見ることができませんでしたが、場外市場でお寿司を食べました。ネタが新鮮でとても美味しかったです。

値段も手頃で、たくさん食べて帰りました。

寿司といえば、去年、カナダのトロントに旅行した時、友人が働いてる「ＳＵＳＳＩ」料理店に行った際、メニューの中に「スシピザ（ＳＵＳＳＩＰＩＺＡ）」というものがありました。店によって、アレンジ方法は異なるそうですが、その店ではカリカリに焼いたご飯を一番下に敷き、その上にスパイシーマヨネーズ、小さく切ったネタ（マグロやサーモン、イカ等）と海苔を乗せ、最後にチーズをたっぷりのせて焼いたものでした。最初は注文するかどうか迷いましたが、食べてみるととても美味しく、驚きました。その他にも「ドラゴンロール」（アボガド、きゅうり等を使ったドラゴンに似せた巻きずし）など、様々な種類があって、どれもとても斬新なものばかりでした。（日本の「寿司」というよりは、「創作料理」に近いかも。）

カナダで「日本から来ました」と言った際に、よく「ＳＵＳＳＩ」という言葉を聞きました。今や「日本」＝「寿司」のイメージが強いのかも知れません。

まだ日本では、創作料理的なお寿司は少ないように思います。これから、日本の伝統を守りつつ、新しい海外の「ＳＵＳＳＩ」を逆輸入し、どちらの寿司も食べられるお店がもっとできたらいいなぁと個人的に願っています。

ちなみに、日本に帰ってから、早速「スシピザ」を作ってみました。手軽に作れるし、話題性もあり、パーティ等にピッタリな料理だと思います。

ちなみに、「ドラゴンロール」も作ってみました。味は美味しかったのですが、見た目は・・・。（普通の巻きずしとして出した方がいいかも？）
